Timber Creek, an FCA Packaging Brand, creates and manufactures innovative wood packaging solutions. Our builders manufacture wood pallets, boxes, and crates and we are looking for a Second Shift Production Lead in our Milwaukee, WI facility. Timber Creek offers paid holidays, time off, insurance and 401(k) benefits. Our Milwaukee site operates second shift from 12:30pm – 10:30pm Monday through Thursday.

Overview:
The Production Lead will be responsible for managing nightly operations on the plant floor during second shift. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in driving production in a manufacturing setting, be an experienced problem solver and have good leadership and management skills. Prior experience in the lumber industry or in a construction or manufacturing setting would be helpful. The candidate will need to motivate, develop, and direct production assemblers as they work. The candidate will need to have strong leadership and problem solving skills. Past experience using a nail gun, the ability to read a tape measure, and blueprints are necessary. This is a physical job and the candidate must be able to work safely and quickly in order to meet the minimum standards required for client needs. It is expected that each individual will follow safety and personal protective equipment protocols. Training will occur begin on 1st shift from 6am-2:30pm to gain experience with skilled Production Leads before the candidate moves to their regularly scheduled 2nd shift.
Essential Functions:

  • Directs production teams in the manufacturing of product to meet customer quality and on-time delivery needs.
  • Wood Pallet Production. Safe use of power tools such as nail guns, saws, and drills to build various sized wood pallets, crates, and boxes.
  • Specification Checks. Able to read and interpret basic blueprints.
  • Attendance must be reliable and expected.
  • Address and report all equipment defects or maintenance needs to maintain safe and efficient use. Follow all procedures, policies and know the equipment before using it. Speak up when observing something that may be unsafe or someone performing unsafe acts. Work with other team members to accomplish tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Housekeeping such as sweeping and disposing of scrap lumber.

Requirements: At least 12 – 18 months in manufacturing or related field.

  • Minimum 12 months past experience managing and driving a team.
  • Read a tape measure and blueprints.
  • Basic computer skills needed to log in and out of timekeeping system.
