Assistant Product/Category Manager - Cordova, TN
Full Time - Exempt
The Assistant Product/Category Manager will support the Product Management team by performing the below duties and responsibilities.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with Product Managers to develop strategies and support the product development process
- Research and analyze current market trends to identify customer needs and requirements
- Cultivate relationships with vendors and key internal business partners i.e., Operations, Marketing, Replenishment, Accounts Payables, etc.
- Generate ad hoc reporting and analytics for decision making
- Work directly with Product Manager to track and communicate all product changes
- Manage the annual returns process, including reconciliation of credits
- Performs other duties as assigned or as needed.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's Degree or related field or equivalent work experience is required
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 3 years' of retail-merchandising-purchasing experience preferably in a fast-moving consumer goods manufacturing environment
- Strong retail foundation, vendor management and analytical skills
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Advanced knowledge of and ability in using various software applications, primarily Excel and Access
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Sharp financial acumen - ability to apply business math to understand margins, GMROI, and other performance indicators
- Attention to detail, and strong analytical skills to handle and interpret large volume of data
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, with little or no supervision, and meet deadlines
