    Job Summary: The Assistant High School Principal serves as the instructional leader for the assigned grade, administers the daily operations, and supervises the activities of the faculty and students.

    Position Information:
      Full-Time with benefits8 hours/day, 260 days/yearMinimum Salary of $84,543 – Salary will be determined based on experience

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Direct and control student behavior and discipline, counseling students regarding acceptable school conduct and recommending appropriate action to be taken when necessary.
    • Coordinate the instructional affairs within the grade, and externally, where pertinent.
    • Direct the activities of the staff and students and ensure a safe, orderly, and smooth functioning environment conducive to learning.
    • Assist the Principal with the development and administration of the annual master schedule.
    • Observe and evaluate all teachers and non-professional staff as assigned.
    • Attend Administrative Team meetings, IEP, MDE, GIEP, Parent Advisory Council and other meetings necessary to ensure that students’ needs are well met, including those arranged by guidance and/or requested by outside agencies.
    • Provide leadership in screening and interviewing applicants including substitutes, and/or recommending of applicants to be interviewed, in cooperation with department supervisors.
    • Serve as administer-in-charge concerning chaperone duties.
    • Coordinate new teacher induction, graduation project, student assistant programs, advanced placement program, student parking, data collection and analysis of Keystone Exam and other standardized testing results, alternative education programs, summer school program, clubs, transition camp, on-line driver education, etc. as assigned by the Principal.
    • Assist the Principal with the development of the annual budget.
    • Serve on various committees to represent the high school at the direction of the Principal.
    • Provide leadership in enforcing safety regulations, establishing emergency procedures, and directing programs for safety consciousness for all staff and students.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the High School Principal.



    Qualifications:
      Five (5) years’ experience in public education necessary, including elementary or secondary school instructionMaster’s degree requiredPennsylvania Administrative certification requiredSubmission of pre-employment medical examination (Section 148 of the PA School Code)Submission of the following clearances:
      • PA State Criminal History Record (Act 34 & Act 114)
      • PA Dept. of Public Welfare Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151 & Act 114)
      • Federal (FBI) Background Check (Act 24)
      Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
