1. Position Purpose / Scope: The Assistant General Manager is responsible for managing and supporting store operations including the development and growth of people, sales and profits. Manages in accordance with established company standards, policies and procedures. Optimizes profits by controlling inventory and labor costs. Increases sales by ensuring customer satisfaction and prompt problem resolution. Staffs, trains and develops store employees through orientations, ongoing feedback, and monitoring performance expectations. Assist with assigned special projects. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time. § Make recommendations to the General Manager regarding the retail sales environment that may impact the Company’s vision and mission. § Assure and enforce the in-store business climate and expectations from all sales associates by communicating often, clearly and consistently. § Assist the General Manager in developing and managing store employees. § Assist the General Manager with inventory controls (rotation, shrink, cycle counts) § Assist the General Manager in understanding and remediating results from financial metrics, cash handling, reporting and controls. § Assist the General Manager with operating cost containment. § Manage day to day customer service and customer satisfaction. § Assist the General Manager with accurate and timely POS system input and reconciliation. § Assist the General Manager with facilities management (cleanliness, signage, displays etc.) § Count all supplier products insuring accurate counts and pricing, reporting any discrepancies to the Corporate Staff. § Reconcile cash handling and cash counts on a daily basis reporting daily to Corporate Office. § Coordinate all required cycle counts and investigate/reconcile any discrepancies and reporting material differences to Corporate office. § Accurately record waste, supplier returns, etc. making necessary adjustments within POS system. § Manage, mentor and coach all members of store team and develop new members. § Meet with the General Manager twice weekly, reporting on respective store progress with respect to meeting annual sales and profit goals. § Work hands on in the day to day operations of the store, leading by example. § Support the communication between team members § Treat everyone with respect and courtesy. § Develop marketing and promotional ideas to enhance business at the store. § Plus perform all duties of a Sales Associate: o Greet customers in a polite and friendly manner within 10 seconds of their arrival. o Serve customers in a manner that will enhance the image and sales of the store. o Follow all approved Sales Procedures and Customer Relation policies including handing out sales flyers to each customer and upselling product. o Present a clean, neat, well-groomed appearance at all times and adherence to uniform requirements. o Demonstrate a manner, attitude, and personality that will create an atmosphere of friendliness and good will with customers and co-workers. o Answer customer’s questions about menu selections and promotions. o Receive order from customer and correctly enter it into the POS system. o Accurately operate cash register and follow all approved cash handling procedures. o Present customer with properly prepared receipt. o Thank customer for their visit and extend invitation to return. o Maintain cleanliness of store by performing routine cleaning and maintenance. o Keep shelves stocked and product rotated. o Clean, sanitize, and arrange merchandise in cooler with particular attention to floor, shelves, and cooler doors. o Follow all company policies and procedures. o Keeps management informed of items such as out of product situations, customer questions or comments, items that need repaired, etc. Essential: § One year experience in retail food management; § Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment; § Must possess excellent leadership skills; § Ability to communicate effectively in order to motivate a team; § Possess a valid, current driver’s license. § Ability to efficiently travel to other stores, Support Center, etc. when needed. § Fluent in verbal and written English. § Must be front end user computer literate with an emphasis on Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), e-mail, point of sale systems, inventory control systems and payroll systems. § Knowledgeable in inventory cost control systems and methods. § Has thorough operational food service sanitation regulation knowledge. § Able to follow verbal and written instructions. § Friendly, outgoing and warm personality.
