As the Assistant General Manager of our 3PL Operated fulfillment network, you will lead a team of Operations Directors across multiple facilities that fuel Nike’s supply chain in North America. You will be responsible for the performance and operations of our 3rd party logistics partners and drive the development of your Nike team members. You will work cross-functionally to develop strategic plans for the network and have accountability for year over year improvements in capacity, service, and cost. This role will participate in and influence Nike Supply Chain and Operations Logistics Strategy agendas from a Distribution perspective and communicate and coordinate distribution initiatives. Growing visibility of Distribution through effective communication methods is important.

We will need you to advise the development and implementation of the annual operations business plan to align with regional and global logistics objectives. We will look to you to research, design and implement innovative processes and procedures that will foster improvement of the logistics operations and service. You’ll support 3PL partners to ensure that Nike business volatility is managed with precision and in a fiscally responsible manner. You'll educate staff on statistical methods for process and performance assessment and analyze performance data for the purpose of driving key decisions around service, operations and overall logistics. You'll also facilitate and encourage continual improvement processes focused on making the operation more effective and flexible. You’ll support contractual negotiations with our portfolio of service providers and ensure alignment and execution to the business requirements. This role will select, empower, develop and evaluate our Director level team, including recruitment and selection, person-to-person developmental, performance reviews, salary administration, professional/managerial training and Human Resource Process implementation of managers.

This role will need to maintain interdependent relationships with all functional areas within the facility and engage in cross-functional collaboration with all supply chain functional groups (operations, demand planning, engineering, project management, finance, and our executive team). You'll build and conduct high profile presentations and effectively represent distribution logistics throughout the Nike matrix. You'll direct business processes to receive, store, process and ship product timely and accurately to customers while optimizing operational results. You'll develop the annual operations budget vital to achieving the targeted sales goals while enthusiastically pursuing customer service standards.

This role can be located in Memphis, TN or Beaverton, OR.

Requirements for the position include:



3rd party logistics experience working with or in a partner model to lead the execution of supply chain business needs.
8 -10 years' experience in Distribution and Ecommerce fulfillment.
Multi-level broad range distribution experience, preferably involving receiving, pick and pack and shipping in a fast-paced automated facility.
Experience with new-DC startups.
Experience in all facets of inventory and supply chain life cycle from IB to OB with VAS and end of life disposition.
Demonstrated solid understanding of supply chain logistics processes including demand planning, distribution requirements planning, inventory management, manufacturing planning, material planning, inventory control, transportation and logistics planning, customer service and warehousing.
Thorough understanding of logistics impact on diverse organization departmental goals.
Knowledge of current industry best practices in supply chain management in order to support process improvement.
Proven track record of engaging with all levels of a large organization to remove waste from operations processes employing Lean/Six Sigma practices.
Working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Experience with a contingent workforce.
>25% travel to support ramp up and readiness of 3PL Logistics Network
Knowledge of warehouse management systems including Manhattan WMS, high-speed conveyor systems and other highly automated equipment.
The ability to effectively teach, lead and manage within all areas of the operation and mentor staff beyond current potential.
Demonstrated ability to successfully develop others into higher levels of leadership in an organization.
Demonstrated ability to deal with adversity and rapidly changing operating conditions while still delivering to expectations.

Experience operating in an environment focused on Lean principles.
Footwear and Apparel experience



Educational Background
BS of Business, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or similar degree is required.
MBA is preferred
