Description Responsibilities: This position assists with providing leadership and oversight of the fire program for the Chelan Fire Unit for the Washington Department of Natural Resources. The Assistant Fire Management Officer will have the responsibility of supervision, administration, hiring, training, problem solving, preparedness, oversight of 1-Permanent Dozer Operator, 1- Permanent Fire Technician, and 11 – Seasonal wildland firefighters. The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has an exciting opportunity within our Southeast Region. Do you enjoy the challenge of wildland firefighting? Do you see yourself leading a team of wildland firefighters across Washington’s most diverse geographic region? The Washington State (DNR) is looking for a bright, quick-thinking individual to fill the role of the Assistant Fire Management Officer (WFOT3). This position is prefect for those that enjoy hazard-risk mitigation, collaborating with interagency peers, and using professional judgment to determine necessary resources during high to extreme fire danger levels. The Chelan Fire Unit has 1- 20 Person Handcrew, 1- Dozer, and 7- Type 5 Engines based at the work center.Duties
