Responsible for the orientation, ongoing training, and supervision of field staff, and responsible for assisting the Program Director in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and reporting of the MSU Extension Nutrition Education program (SNAP-Ed and EFNEP).

The ProgramSupplemental Nutrition Assistance Program – Education (SNAP-Ed) SNAP-Ed uses educational strategies accompanied by policy, systems, and environment-change interventions demonstrated to facilitate food and physical activity choices and other nutrition-related behaviors that support the health of individuals and families with low income. SNAP-Ed participants are Montana families with children, youth, seniors, singles, and individuals with developmental disabilities with low income. Education and skill-building lessons are presented with practical information and tips for choosing healthier foods, preparing meals, learning food safety practices, modeling good food choices for family members, and incorporating ways to be more physically active.
Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) For over 50 years, MSU EFNEP has assisted Montanans with low income in acquiring knowledge, skills, attitudes, and changed behavior necessary for nutritionally sound diets. Ultimately, the goal is to contribute to personal development and improvement of the total family diet and nutritional well-being. EFNEP targets youth, young adults, and adults with children under the age of 19, and reaches individuals through series of sessions and demonstrations. Through EFNEP, participants can build self-confidence, increase food security, and improve their nutritional health and well-being.
