We are seeking a highly motivated individual for an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator (Assistant CRC) position with the Brain Development Research Program (BDRP). The BDRP is investigating the neuropsychology and genetics of the developmental brain anomaly, agenesis of the corpus callosum (ACC) as well as other disorders of brain development including autism, epilepsy and cerebral palsy. Under the supervision of a Clinical Research Supervisor or Principal Investigator (PI), the individual will perform duties related to the support and coordination of clinical studies at the Brain Development Research Program and may receive training and development to prepare and advance for journey-level work at the next level within the series.
The Assistant CRC may be responsible for the coordination of one or more single or multi-site, active or follow-up clinical research studies including our “Disorders of Cerebral Development” project where we aim to enroll individuals with brain malformations and their family members to provide DNA samples and clinical phenotyping information to determine the genetic causes and clinical manifestations of brain malformation disorders. The individual will also help gather and interpret medical, surgical and laboratory data regarding research subjects; may apply understanding of inclusion/exclusion eligibility criteria for protocols; help recruit, enroll, register, consent, schedule and retain study subjects; record protocol specific treatments and assure collection and shipment of samples; assist research personnel to keep patients on study schedules; complete study forms to submit to sponsors and/or appropriate agencies; collect, enter and clean data into study databases, maintaining data quality; assist with data analysis; assist with preparation of reports and tables; attend team meetings.

The Brain Development Research Program (BDRP) at UCSF investigates the genetic causes and molecular mechanisms of autism, epilepsy, and other disorders of brain development. One focal point of our lab is elucidating the genetic underpinnings of Agenesis/Dysgensis of the Corpus Callosum, the largest supratentorial white matter tract, connecting the two cerebral hemispheres. We work with a multidisciplinary team consisting of neurologists, radiologists, geneticists, neuropsychologists, post-doctoral fellows, laboratory technicians, and research coordinators/assistants.
