The Thompson Island Brewing Company is a new-ish brewpub based in Rehoboth Beach, DE. It is the latest project by SoDel Concepts, an award-winning, chef driven restaurant group on the Culinary Coast of Southern Delaware. SoDel Concepts believes in cooking beautiful, simple food, developing the people we work with, and making the world a better place.
We at Thompson Island are searching for an energetic beer lover to join our team as Assistant Brewer, whose main role will be to assist the Brewmaster and other Brewers in the creation of our wonderful, world-class beers. With one eye squarely focused on quality and the other on creativity and experimentation, we will be using our state-of-the-art 8.5 bbl brewhouse to continue pushing the great beer scene of the coastal region of southern Delaware.
As Assistant Brewer, you will report directly to the Brewmaster. Some of your responsibilities may include but will not be limited to:

• Checking on fermenting beer, including checking gravity, pH, and fermentation temperature.
• Cellar duties such as dry-hopping, yeast harvesting, beer transfers, and CIPs.
• Packaging duties such as keg washing & filling, and canning processes.
• Work up to eventual training on our BrauKon Brewhouse.
• Keeping accurate records of everything we do.
• Sensory evaluation of beer throughout the brewing process.
• Keeping the Brewery area clean with daily housekeeping tasks.
• Helping at beer festivals and other events.
• Assist the other Brewers and Brewmaster in any other way as needed.

• Must love craft beer!
• Minimum of a basic understanding of brewing and fermentation processes and science.
• No previous production brewery experience required, but it can be a benefit.
• Able and willing to follow strict Quality Control parameters and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Strong tendency to complete tasks independently after being given direction, as well as robust problem-solving skills.
