Job Posting Title Job Description Summary Job Description Assistant Baker #4 Primary Functions: The primary responsibility of the assistant baker is to provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times. Other responsibilities include following recipes and/or preparation directions for food items. The Assistant Baker will be required to operate a variety of shop equipment and appliances in the preparation and service of the bakeshop products. In addition, the Assistant Baker will be expected to convert formulas, taste products, read menus, check production, and requisition supplies and equipment as needed. The Assistant Baker will be required to assist in all aspects of production and will act as shop lead in head baker’s absence including responsibility for conduct of all employees. The Asst. Baker is required to participate in other duties as assigned by manager or cook on duty. Lastly, the Assistant baker will comply with all state and local food service regulations, including practicing ServSafe and NSF standards. The baker’s helper is responsible for the bakeshop operation with an emphasis on production, operations and special events. The primary responsibility of the baker’s helper is to provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times. Specifically, they will function as a Baker’s Helper in Claflin on Monday, Thursday & Friday. Saturday & Sunday they will work as a Grill Cook at Bates kitchen. Other responsibilities include transformation of bulk mixes etc. to oven ready form following standard recipes and procedures, assisting with the finishing of products and shipping duties of number four. The Baker’s Helper will be required to operate a variety of shop equipment and appliances in the preparation and service of the bakeshop products. The Baker’s Helper is required to participate in daily cleaning and in other duties as assigned by manager or lead baker on duty. Lastly, the Baker’s Helper will comply with all state and local food service regulations, including practicing ServSafe and NSF standards. Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk. Individual must possess current ServSafe certifications or equivalent documentation. Individual must have training in the baking specifically in cake decorating. Prior baking experience is required. Individual will be required to successfully complete a written and practical exam relative to the position. Prior baking experience required. Must be able to comprehend, convert and prepare recipes. Must be able to lift 25 lbs on a regular basis and up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to use chemicals required in daily cleaning. Ability to read and comprehend basic English preferred.
