Job Description:
The position of an Assembly C, reporting to the Depot Repairs Manager, is responsible for performing complex Electro-Mechanical assemblies and repairs. Assume lead responsibilities in the absence or as directed by the production lead.
Essential Functions:
- Must thoroughly understand the sequence of events and technical issues related to customer returns. For example, must communicate effectively with Management, Quality, Test Technicians and Engineering.
- Full knowledge of disaamebly and re-assmebly of customer returns.
- Ability to trouble shoot additional failure problems found on customer returns after initial test and inspection.
- Perform complex rework and repair on all product types.
- Accountable for thorough documentation of rework and repair.
- Must use strong drive and ability to meet expectations under limited supervision.
- Interface and work with all functional groups.
- Coordinate workload and change priorities based on management or rework lead direction.
- May assume Lead responsibilities when needed.
- Provide guidance and assist in the training of the new assembly processes and build sequences to team members.
- Responsible for the accuracy of time charging on job performed.
- Responsible for keeping his or her work area clean and well organized.
- Select and use assembly and wiring tools such as manual, pneumatic or electric hand tools.
- Lift, move or manipulate heavy parts and assemblies ranging up to 50 lbs.
- Operate various power lifting and handling equipment ranging from hydraulic or electric lifting devices and lift tables.
- Utilize equipment and machinery effectively throughout the Manufacturing areas.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-5-year experience assembling electro/mechanical sub assemblies, major assembles and cabinetry for hardware and systems built to quality requirements as stated above, preferably to military requirements and specifications.
- Background knowledge of processes and procedures involved in the assembly and rework of complex assemblies and military hardware.
- Possesses hand soldering skills and knowledge of IPC-J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 as required.
- Must possess excellent assembly blueprint reading skills.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of drawings, parts lists, Engineering Change Orders (ECO), wiring lists and shop order.
- Sound reasoning and decision-making ability; strong analytical skills.
- Must be able to interface with Engineering, Manufacturing, Contracts, Procurement, Quality, Administrative, and management personnel.
- Good communication skills including the ability to listen to team members and work as a team member to meet program objectives.
- Have a working knowledge of computers and the ability to record/update assembly status as needed.
- Proficient in use of personal computers with the ability to use MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with L3Harris product lines and military standards is preferred.
Education:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Minimum 2-5 years related experience and/or training assembling electro/mechanical sub assemblies, major assemblies and cabinetry for hardware and systems built to quality requirements as stated above, preferably to military requirements and specifications.
