The Crested Butte – Gunnison Valley of Colorado is home to the world-famous resort destination, Mt. Crested Butte. Here you’ll find legendary skiing, mountain biking, and fishing, as well as a laid back, welcoming community of people. It is a fantastic place to raise a family or to enjoy “empty-nester” years.

We are looking for a full-time area director with a proven history of strong, Christ-centered, relational leadership. We live at a slower pace in the mountains and believe that you can invest in kids and leaders the very best if you’re also investing in a HEALTHY rhythm of life for yourself and your family. • Lead the area out of an overflow of your own relationship with Jesus.
• Supervise and develop area staff and volunteer team leaders.
• Build into Christ-centered, fun community among volunteer leaders.
• Model excellent contact work, discipleship, and club ministry alongside one of our ministry teams so that leaders can follow your example.
• Work in partnership with our other staff member to recruit and train volunteer leaders.
• Engage with local churches.
• Continue to develop and execute area vision, alongside the committee.
• Work in partnership with the committee on the financial development for the area, in addition to personal fundraising.
• Participation and leadership in regional staff events, training, and fall/summer camping assignments. (Bonus – you will be working with a tight knit, fun-loving, supportive region.)
• Partnership with the committee chair to help align all areas of ministry toward our single mission of introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith.

• A deep, abiding faith in Jesus and love for people.
• Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
• Proven history of strong leadership and team building.
• Previous Young Life experience.
• Willing to work hard, but in an environment that invites you to play hard and enjoy life as well.
