*Internal candidates are granted preference for this role*We are growing our culinary operations team and seeking certified culinary trainers to support our new and existing restaurants to provide a support role in training at new restaurant openings (including post-opening support), identify and develop future trainer talent, supports market in elevating training and operations in underperforming restaurants, and supports department projects and initiatives. We are seeking individuals who have a passion for training, have strong communication skills, and are highly adaptable.
In this position, you will travel for 1-4 weeks at a time and will travel both individually and with a team to open new locations or retrain Team Members at existing locations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
New Restaurant Openings
- Ensures the highest level of training standards at all NROs
- Supports the proper execution of all NRO processes, systems, standards, and calendar of events
- Adheres to scheduled shifts and is willing to stay beyond when business or circumstances dictate
- Follows the Four-Step Training Process to ensure the delivery of effective training
- Facilitates classroom training sessions and delivers training content using various modes of delivery
- Performs on the job training to teach new Team Members the skills, knowledge and competencies needed to perform their job
- Evaluates and provides constructive Team Member feedback to the Market Culinary Manager or Regional Culinary Manager
- Provides relevant feedback on NRO Culinary training materials, processes, and experience to elevate and improve future NROs
- On-site Lead support for Regional Culinary Manager for domestic and international Bistro new restaurant openings
Area Support
- Supports previously opened restaurants as needed
- Works on-site as part of extended NRO support team
- Aids with the implementation of action plans
- Identifies and develops future trainer talent
- Serves as subject matter expert for training and operations
- Helps support Regional Vice Presidents and Market Partners to elevate training and operations in underperforming locations
- Assists and supports other department projects or company initiatives unrelated to NROs based on current training needs as determined by manager
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Minimum 6 months P.F. Chang’s Culinary experience
- P.F. Chang’s Certified Trainer in a minimum of 1 station
- Exudes a passion for training and developing others
- Strong written communication, experience in proofreading, editing and writing with acute attention to detail
- Skilled at adapting training approach to suit the needs of the learner and/or learning environment
- Outstanding verbal communication and presentation skills
- Recognizes and effectively solves problems
- Exercises good judgment in decision making
- Holds self-accountable for high personal standards of conduct and professionalism
- Ability to deal with multiple tasks simultaneously
- Works effectively under pressure and adapts quickly to shifts in priorities
- Self-disciplined, highly motivated and able to work independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook required
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to travel extensively, up to 90% of the time
- Must be able to work for extended periods of times, beyond the normal 8-hour work day
- Work is performed in a restaurant setting or remote workstation
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, and effectively communicate with team members and guests
- S/he must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of employees, management, guests, and vendors.
