Responsibilities
Seeking an ArcGIS Portal Administrator/Developer to support the Geospatial Research, Analysis and Services Program (GRASP), which is a program within the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR). GRASP is responsible for geospatial analysis, research, and technology as applied to diverse public health domains including environmental health, site-specific exposure, infectious and chronic disease, injury, and emergency preparedness and response. GRASP works with ATSDR, other Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) centers/institutes/offices, state/local health organizations, other federal agencies, international governments, academia, and advocacy groups.
The position will be required to:
o Administer all aspects of ArcGIS Portal and associated ESRI software, including ArcGIS Server.
o Provide performance monitoring and tuning, service configuration, security, and licensing when needed.
o Provide user management support.
o Make modifications to Portal using JavaScript.
o Develop widgets for operation inside ArcGIS Portal using JavaScript.
o Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
o Automate deployment of ArcGIS Server via REST API and Python.
o Administer Enterprise Geodatabases using SQL.
o Automate analysis and reporting tasks using scripting languages, such as Python/JavaScript to support field operations.
o Produce static and interactive cartographic products to communicate complex concepts to audiences of all types.
o Develop project documentation in accordance with CDC guidelines.
o Participate in oral and written communications, as needed, to interface with the diverse and multi-disciplinary GRASP staff.
Qualifications
Requires 5 to 8 years with BS/BA or 3 to 5 years with MS/MA or 0 to 2 years with PhD.
The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:
Advanced level knowledge of the following ESRI Software: ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Portal, and ArcGIS Server
Technical skills in the use of advanced ESRI tools and features, including extensions, Arc Toolbox, Geoprocessing, Model Builder, Python, Services, and map production tools
Experience with relational database management systems using SQL
Experience performing GIS analysis
Experience in platform architecture, solution design, planning, developing, deployment, and security
Knowledge of geospatial and mapping concepts, such as spatial analysis and map projections
Excellent data management skills
Experience using ESRI ArcGIS JavaScript API
Experience using MS-SQL server and T-SQL to create functions and stored procedures
Qualifications Required:
BS/BA in Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or related field
5+ years experience (or 3+ years with an advanced degree)
