Pivot Tutors is looking for an experienced high-level science tutor who can provide quality instruction and support for a wide range of high school science classes, including AP Biology , or AP Chemistry, or AP Environmental Science.

**Previous high school science tutoring/teaching experience is required.**

ABOUT YOU:

If you’re the right tutor for our team, YOU…

• are an expert in Biology (Required), Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Environmental Science, and Life Sciences.

• can also tutor in a wide variety of subjects, such as high school-level math (through PreCalculus), general chemistry, and/or physics (Preferred).

• enjoy mentoring high school students.

• have experience tutoring in science & math for AP exams, SAT Subject Tests, ACT, and/or SAT (Preferred).

• are skilled at breaking complex problems down into manageable parts.

• make learning fun and are a confident teacher.

• want a rewarding job that allows you to use your education and experience.

• have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in the subjects you will be teaching, with a University GPA >3.5 (Required).

• have a minimum of 1 year of recent science tutoring/teaching experience (Required).

• have access to a laptop (with screen annotation capabilities) and reliable internet connection (Required).

ABOUT THE POSITION:

• Part-time position (5-15 hours)

• Currently, a remote position (with the expectation to work out of the Pivot Tutors office in Sorrento Valley once in-person tutoring resumes)

• Paid tutor training is provided.

• Salary: $20-30/hour depending on background and experience

• Position starts ASAP
