Overview:
This position is accountable to administer and coordinate the technical activities of personnel in the laboratory section to ensure effective technical operation of the department in accordance with established practices.
Responsibilities:
Maintain current theoretical knowledge of testing methods, techniques, procedures and instrumentation in order to perform all technical activities of the section. This in includes bone marrow and flow cytometry procedures.

Provide technical guidance and instruction to personnel outside the Flow Cytometry laboratory.

Develop, as well as, perform quality control procedures to ensure reliability of testing and proper functioning of laboratory equipment. Maintain quality control records.

Assist in evaluation and implementation of testing methods, techniques and procedures for laboratory application. Assist in evaluating new laboratory equipment to ensure effective technical operation.

Develop procedures manuals. Bring new or significantly edited procedures to the pathologist for sign off. -
Assures compliance with the CAP checklists including Flow Cytometry, Hematology, All Common and General Lab

Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required:
Bachelor?s or Associate?s degree in medical laboratory technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science. Bachelor?s Degree diploma must be provided.
OR
Bachelor?s degree in another field with a minimum of 60 Semester Hours specifically including, 6 hours of Chemistry, 6 hours of Biology and 12 additional hours in any combination of Chemistry, Biology or Medical Laboratory Technology. Transcript with degree indicated must be provided and evaluated by laboratory leadership prior to offer.
Preferred:
Bachelor?s degree in medical laboratory technology or clinical laboratory science
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in Flow Cytometry, Immunology or Hematology., Required
2 Years of experience in Flow Cytometry and Bone Marrow collection and processing, Preferred
