Core Responsibilities

  • The Analyst will assist in the advancement of a climate change resilience strategy for approval by the Climate Risk and Resilience Executive Committee. This includes enhancements and updates to a Climate Change Planning and Design Guideline.
  • Accordingly, the Analysts will work with internal subject matter experts and external climate experts to review and revise the Guideline as appropriate in response to changing climate projections and shall engage in a full review of the Guideline at least once every five years.
  • The primary objective of this effort is a climate change adaptation and resilience strategy that aligns climate adaptation investment planning with other Company planning efforts, including Company Long Range Plans and plans to meet clean energy policy goals, and addresses resilience to extreme events.
  • The Analyst in Strategic Planning will have responsibility for researching key inputs and assumptions for analysis and conducting or reviewing data, financial, economic and climate modeling. The purpose of the analysis is to provide actionable insights and support management decision-making in our regulated business areas and other opportunities for potential growth.
  • The Analyst will monitor and analyze industry trends and, in particular, climate projections related to electric, gas, steam and the Company's competitive businesses to support the evaluation of the performance and prospects of existing and potential businesses.
  • Conduct strategic review of existing regulated businesses as it pertains to climate change adaptation.
  • Provide modeling and analytic breakdown to help evaluate implementation opportunities in climate resilience and advise management on major project proposals.
  • Take supporting roles on cross-functional project teams and perform data analyses and modeling in areas related to technologies or scenario development or other areas of the Company's long-range planning efforts.
  • Develop insights on industry and societal trends and participate in ongoing long-range planning work related to both regulated and competitive businesses.
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree In Environmental or a Sustainability-related field And two years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Climate Science or Engineering (including environmental and sustainability-related areas). And two years of relevant work experience that includes Climate Science or Engineering.

Required Work Experience

  • Demonstrated value-added accomplishments within an operating or support organization. Required
  • Ability to structure problems and solutions, and the ability to work independently. Required
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, flexible to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines. Required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Teams, Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook, etc.). Required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Required
  • Data analysis or financial modeling experience relevant to forecasting. Preferred
  • Experience in utilities and business strategy. Preferred
  • Project management experience.

  • Driver's License Required
