The AmeriCorps VISTA Outreach & Education Coordinator will use marketing and communications to engage and educate the public on the complex issues of poverty and homelessness, with the goal to develop compassion, increase support, and assist more individuals. This will help those experiencing poverty, homelessness and systemic exclusion in racial and ethnic communities by ensuring the community knows about Ritter Center and its programs, understands the challenges created by poverty, sees programmatic efficacy, and supports its mission. The ideal candidate will have some experience with and strong interest in: community outreach, marketing and communications, research, and technology. A strong sense of compassion and a willingness to engage community members with varying opinions on homelessness and poverty will be beneficial. Ritter Center is located in downtown San Rafael, a peri-urban city 19 miles north of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge. The area has some of the best weather, food, culture, and activities in Northern California. This is a 1-3 year opportunity. This is a hybrid location role primarily based in Ritter Center's offices in San Rafael with some remote working options; some travel is also required to/from our healthcare campus and to/from events.
