Job SummaryUnder immediate supervision, is responsible for performing patrol and security work at the Alamodome. Exercises no supervision.
Work Schedule: Work days will vary (planned in advance) but a regular shift will be assigned. The department has 3 shifts:
1st Shift: 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.- 2nd Shift: 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.,
- 3rd Shift: 10:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.
These hours may flex and are dependent on event days, but we do not have shift rotations and guards are assigned a primary shift.
Work Location: Alamodome 100 Montana St. San Antonio, TX 78203.Essential Job Functions- Patrols assigned areas to eliminate or report fire hazards, deter thefts, vandals, or violence.
- Takes necessary action to detain or prevent entry by unauthorized persons.
- Checks buildings, facilities and equipment fixtures and as necessary reports on conditions by often touring, moving about and observing.
- Monitors and maintains station at entry/exit point to City activities.
- Provides information and directions to customers and the general public.
- Maintains electronic activity logs using a computer and/or a tablet/iPad.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Job Requirements- High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency).
- One (1) year experience as a Security Guard or security related experience.
- This position requires a valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License OR valid driver's license from another state with the ability to obtain a valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Use of your own personal vehicle may at time be required and proof of Liability Insurance will be required.
- Any applicant selected for this position must have a background check completed with results satisfactory to the City of San Antonio and successfully complete the City of San Antonio’s Cash-Handling Certification Training.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Excellent verbal, written and computer skills.
Facility and Event Security experience is preferred.
Must be professional and courteous.
Must possess certain traits such as teamwork, integrity, critical thinking and vigilance.
Texas Security Guard license preferred.
Prior Dispatch and Incident Report Writing experience.
