Aircraft Mechanic 2 FabricatorDepartment: Aircraft Repair & Modification - 5327 Position Purpose This position performs manufacturing and fabrication tasks to aircraft parts and components in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Erickson requirements. Job Leveling The three pay grades for this job description are 24 (Job title I), 25 (Job Title II), and 26 (Job Title III). These positions require different levels of experience, job knowledge and skills. The characteristics for each level are: The Job Title Aircraft Mechanic Fabricator I (Level 1) is distinguished from the Job Title Aircraft Mechanic Fabricator II (Level 2) by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned within the series. Employees at this level may have only limited experience and receive regular instruction or assistance in the performance of their assigned duties. One to three years’ experience is desirable. Advancement to the II level is based on demonstrated proficiency in all duties & responsibilities. The Job Title Aircraft Mechanic Fabricator II (Level 2) is distinguished from the Job Title Aircraft Mechanic Fabricator I (Level 1) by the performance of the full range of duties & responsibilities. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise, and are fully aware of company Procedures and SOP’s. Advancement to the III level is based on demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of the job, and successful completion of project responsibilities with minimum oversight. Four to nine years of experience is required. The Job Title Aircraft Mechanic Fabricator III (Level 3) is distinguished from the Aircraft Mechanic Fabricator II (Level 2) by the level of responsibility assumed and the complexity of duties assigned. Employees perform the most difficult and responsible types of duties including assuming project management responsibilities when assigned. Employees at this level are required to be fully trained and aware of all applicable Procedures and SOP’s. Additionally, they mentor others and foster technical growth. The employee at this level must hold an Airframe and/or Powerplant license. Ten or more years of increasingly responsible experience is required. Duties & Responsibilities Scope & Accountabilities Internal Stakeholders are: Engineer - Help Engineering develop, review, and create ORR’s, ORI’s, Manuals and drawings. Team Leader - Communicate with other departments to help accomplish company goals and requirements. Mechanic, Inspector, Technicians, etc. - Communicate with other employees to help accomplish company goals and requirements. External Stakeholders are: Supplier - Help supplier with questions concerning maintenance and manufacturing Customer - Help customer with questions concerning maintenance and manufacturing. Perform work for customer FAA Inspector, Auditors, etc. - Answer questions and explain processes.
