The Agile Coach will have responsibility to work with the corporate teams on the agile methodology and oversee the development of agile teams to ensure effective outcomes for the organization. The Agile Coach would be responsible for guiding teams through the implementation process and are tasked with encouraging workers and leadership to embrace the agile method. The Agile Coach is responsible for encouraging teams, enabling them to solve problems and cultivate individual growth.

The Agile Coach will be responsible for improving the team through knowledge-sharing by offering new perspectives, possibilities, and insight from their prior experiences. They will assist in developing the agile teams and championing an organizational culture that embraces change. The Agile Coach will ensure the teams have the support, encouragement, knowledge, and tools need to execute the process successfully.

Responsibilities:

  • Educate teams on Agile principles and values; assure project adheres to an Agile framework.
  • Communicate with senior leadership to identify Agile value added and define strategy for transition into an Agile framework.
  • Facilitate internal team communication as well as enterprise-wide relationships.
  • Define performance metrics and actively communicate progress and outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Anticipate client needs and formulate solutions to client issues; adapt quickly to business changes.
  • Review deliverables for accuracy and quality.
  • Ensures teams maintain focus on quality and continuous delivery.
  • Provides visibility into delivery targets, commitments, and progress.
  • Understands domain architecture and targets to identify upstream and downstream dependencies and to support the team.
  • Proactively identifies impediments and appropriately resolves using network of peers and formal channels (including escalation if required).
  • Integrates Agile and Lean principles into team practices and work products.
  • Coaches Product Owner and team on backlog refinement and prioritization.
  • Utilizes team feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc.) to identify areas of opportunity and works with team to continuously improve.
  • Innovates with practices and frameworks through experimentation to improve the team and their delivery.
  • Developing, understanding and encouragement of team's engineering innovation and improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Higher in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Certifications/education in SAFE a plus.
  • 5+ years as a scrum master or coach.
  • Knowledgeable in concepts of Continuous Integration and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Proficiency in agile tools.
  • Having programming experience.
  • Demonstrating strong knowledge of and background with Agile concepts.
  • Possessing prior experience coaching teams in Agile adoption or as a Scrum Master.
  • 5+ years’ experience training Kanban or Scrum teams and a change management focused approach to enabling Agile Transformation.
  • Ability to train and coach all levels of the organization.
  • Superior Communication skills, and ability to facilitate a positive, productive work environment.


Work Environment:

  • This position is based in Boulder. We are open to remote candidates if the fit is right.
  • Moderate to high noise levels (i.e. business office with computers, phone, printers, moderate traffic)
  • Ability to sit or stand (standing desk provide upon request) at a computer terminal for an extended period


Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate (talk/sign/type/write) and operate a computer, telephone (or alternative), keyboard (or typing device), etc.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required
