Overview:

The Aerial Cable Crew Foreman is responsible for both supervisory tasks as well as the physical construction/upgrade of Telecommunications/Cable systems in an outside plant environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and oversee field crews
  • Read and review telecom OSP-ISP plans and specifications
  • Review and document changes made to drawings and plans
  • Daily paperwork including, tracking of extra work orders, change of conditions, time sheets, field files, etc.
  • Operate equipment / aerial bucket truck in the field.
  • Placement of strand, fiber/copper cables in aerial application.
  • Open trenches, backfills and compacts trenches using hand tools and power equipment.
  • Pull cable and wire through trenches and structural areas of buildings.
  • Function as lead for in-house crew to include oversight and supervision.
  • Time management of crew and self to maintain daily schedules, delivery schedules and daily productivity
  • Troubleshoot and handle questions, problems and concerns with field crew
  • Maintain good working environment between ALL employees
  • Maintain proper inventory on vehicle based on work assignment
  • Other responsibilities as directed by Supervision

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role with the telecommunications construction industry
  • Must possess considerable knowledge of methods, materials and techniques used in telecommunications construction
  • Interpret engineering work plans
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends, if necessary
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to carry up to 70lbs, to include an extension ladder.
  • Must be able to work at heights of up 30 feet
  • Must be able to bend, stand, sit, crawl, climb and lift throughout work shift
  • Work mandatory overtime as required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to pass drug, background, DOT & MVR screenings
