Fee for Service Therapist to work with Adolescents and Young Adults Embark In-Home Services - Chicago, Illinois Fully Licensed Therapist $50/hr. ($25.00/hr. for work related travel and for administrative tasks such as maintenance of client progress records, meetings, etc.)

Embark, a national innovator in mental health care is pleased to announce the opportunity for an innovative clinician to join our Chicago-based team. This individual provides one and one clinical support adolescents and young adults in real time therapeutic work in nontraditional venues. Our clients and their families do their important work right in the home, and right in the home community. Our teams leverage naturally occurring opportunities with clients in social, academic, recreational, work and other settings to propel positive change usually only talked about in most outpatient practices. Our contracted therapists are powerful change agents by est Our unique approach is multi-systemic and emphasizes the power of re establishing strong therapeutic alliances with clients from which they help clients become great problems solvers, effective navigators of relationships, and successful managers of life stressors and adult competencies. Our therapists are part mentor, part life-coach, part teacher, and part advocate. They work closely with Clinical Team Leader and Parent Coach to provide support for the entire family. This position is part-time (contractor). In addition to direct contact time, we pay our clinicians for case management/administration time and drive/travel time.

We are looking for:

An experienced with strong therapeutic versatility who is comfortable supporting clients in a variety of settings outside of traditional offices and programs.

An individual who is thoughtful and creative in the utilization of naturally occurring opportunities in live situations to "coach" clients into increased competency in navigating the real world.

A clinician who is able to monitor and assess ongoing change through solid treatment planning and documentation while also propelling clients into eventually driving their own treatment. This therapist is calm under pressure, has successfully navigated clinical crises in other settings and can manage the competing concerns of individual clients, their families, and others.

A passionate promoter of a positive culture within family systems. This person is also the "face" of Potomac with their clients and interacts effectively with referral sources and other identified individuals supporting the client such as employers, school counselors, psychiatrists and others.

Primary Job requirements:

  • MUST BE LICENSED IN ILLINOIS
  • Must have CPR and First AID
  • Experience working with adolescents and young adults in a therapeutic capacity.
  • Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Counseling.
  • Experience with crisis response.
  • Ability to meet client scheduling needs which may include off-business hours, including after school, evening, and/or on weekends.
  • Strong ability to personally relate one-on-one with each client and build solid relationships.
  • Team Player; must be able to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Possesses emotional maturity; able to receive course-corrective feedback.
  • Flexibility to travel; a heavy amount of driving for meetings at client homes and for activities.
  • Desire and ability to work 10-20 hours per week. Set your own hours as long as client needs are met!

With whom do I work?

As a contracted therapist you are supported by a Regional Director who coordinates care within the region for others in a similar role to yours. The Director provides training, back-up support, consultation and facilitates weekly team meetings where other clinicians in the region collaborate on case reviews, problem solve and share collective wisdom as to how to approach a variety of issues. We expect that your experience will also benefit others on the team.

You will be working for the Potomac Division of Embark Behavior Health. Embark is a nationally recognized provider of services including long-term residential treatment in one division and outdoor behavior health in another division. The Potomac division includes in-home services, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs as well as a short-term residential treatment program. Regional Directors receive direction and support from the In-Home National Coordinator, collaborate regularly with other Regional Directors as well as receive training through Potomac Division and Embark company- wide leaders. The In-Home program of Potomac was founded over 15 years ago and has recently been refined to better meet the evolving needs of today's adolescents and young adults.
