JOB SUMMARY: Arrange for the efficient and orderly admission of outpatient testing or procedures. Ensures that the patient’s information is collected, entered in the computer system accurately, and that all patients are aware of Urgent Care policies and procedures. Interviews incoming patient or representatives and enters information required for admission into computer. Distributes appropriate information to all ancillary departments. Must maintain a 95% accuracy rate quarterly on all admissions. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Responsible for registering patients for outpatient testing and procedures, obtaining personal information or verifying information already on file, including emergency numbers and insurance information. 2. Responsible for obtaining signature on MSE and Condition of Admission forms. 3. Communicates appropriately and clearly to the supervisor, nurse managers, coworkers, and physicians. 4. Receive patient payments or a co-payment as required. Posts transactions appropriately to system. Counting till drawer and verifying correct amount at the 5. Maintains department records, reports, and files as required. 6. Responsible for knowing Urgent Care policies and being familiar with Urgent Care services that are available. 7. Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function well in stressful situations. 8. Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity; ensures confidentiality of patients’ records. 9. Maintains a good working relationship with in the department and with other departments. 10. Participates in the educational programs, completes annual educational requirements, and attends in-service meetings as required. 11. Attends all other meetings as required. 12. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. 13. Accepts and completes other duties as assigned or requested. 14. Must maintain a 95% accuracy rate on quarterly report card. 15. Must maintain accurate time clock punches, punch in and out according to Urgent Care policy. 16. Answers incoming calls to the facility in a professional, timely manner. 17. Must maintain a professional attitude. 18. Must wear appropriate clothing acceding to dress code. 19. Duties as deemed necessary. 20. The employee is required to comply with all PCI standards and other company policies and procedures for payment card acceptance and security. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: High School Diploma or higher. Current BLS Certification. Experience: One to three month’s related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience. Equipment/Technology: Ability to use hospital information system, and operate basic computer functions and software. Language/Communication: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively, before groups of customers and or employees of the organization Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratios and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Mental Capabilities: Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Interpersonal: Ability to work well with others as a team player.
