Ability to answer patient/client questions and concerns regarding Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) or SPRAVATO; communicate with patient to establish patient is viable candidate for various types of treatment.
Process referrals received for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation from NeuroStar database as well as from internal and external sources
Contact patients on nursing and/or outpatient clinic schedule for prior screening for such items as COVID, Quality Measures, etc.
Ability to verify insurance benefits to include obtaining prior authorizations and/or approvals from insurance companies and file appeals when applicable.
Review financial obligations with patient to include co-pay, co-insurance, medication cost and payment plans.
Assist with inventory, maintenance of equipment; preparation of educational materials to for patients; assist nursing in maintenance of emergency procedures and education
Prepare and coordinate TMS and SPRAVATO trainings; marketing strategies with providers; assist in organization of various mental health public awareness events
The public contact portion of this position is extremely important to the reputation and financial viability of ECU Physicians. Inaccurate documentation will ultimately affect reimbursements. A poor presentation during the face to face or telephone interaction may deter a patient from seeking their health care at ECU Physicians.
Minimum Education/ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
License or Certification required by statute or regulationN/A
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/EducationTranscranial Magnetic Simulation (TMS) certification (moved from license or certification required by department field)
Previous experience in a behavioral health care setting working with adults and children.
At least one year experience working with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and SPRAVATO.
