Administrative Clerk Receptionist 1 Class Code: 16511 Salary Range: $13.00 to $15.00 per hour SERIES PURPOSE: The purpose of the Administrative Clerk / Receptionist 1 position is to provide customer service, clerical support and process minor accounting functions. Duties include but are not limited to interaction with individuals in person and over the phone, record keeping, data entry, filing, material/supply orders, inventory counts and accounting functions. CLASS CONCEPT: This position works under general supervision and requires friendly and professional interaction with the public and others, proficiency and accuracy in all tasks, basic understanding of accounting systems ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: (These duties are illustrative only. MAJOR WORKER CHARACTERISTICS: Possess understanding and ability to operate multi-line phone system, computer, scanner, calculator, fax machine, and copier; perform basic business math and simple bookkeeping procedures; office practices and procedures; and inventory controls. Ability to deal with a variety of variables in somewhat unfamiliar context; gather, collate and classify information about data, people or things; answer routine inquiries; and work alone or in a group. Must be punctual and maintain excellent attendance. MINIMUM CLASS QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT: High School Diploma or equivalent, two years work experience performing simple to moderately complex clerical and secretarial duties and simple bookkeeping procedures. Be able to communicate effectively with others both verbally and in writing, organize and maintain recordkeeping systems, develop and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, co-workers and the general public, and be able to move between tasks frequently. Candidate must have and maintain a valid State of UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
