Role and Responsibilities:
Office administration/Insurance
- Verification of eligibility and benefits, online insurance website, telephone or other source of automated services
- Confirm patients appointment and explain patients insurance benefits prior to appointment
- Cancels and reschedules appointments, as necessary; follows-up on no shows.
- Follow-up daily on client schedule changes, add-ons and cancelations.
- Prepare and modify documents including correspondence, reports, drafts, memos and emails
- Provides information by answering questions and requests from clients/patients
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments and travel arrangements/itineraries for C-Level, Vice Presidents, Managers or Supervisors
- Update Scheduling System daily with actions taken to ensure compliance related to scheduling
- Use computer word processing, spreadsheet, and database software to prepare reports, memos, and documents
- Communicates with employees at all levels of the organization to gather or convey information make travel, meeting and other arrangements for staff
- Ensure the company's lobby, and workspace area is tidy
Assist with Front Desk /Financial /HR
- Assist with sorting incoming mail, faxes, and courier deliveries for distribution
- Assist with preparing and send outgoing faxes, mail, and courier parcels
- Assist with claims processing in a timely manner
- General clerical duties including photocopying, faxing, scanning and maintaining electronic and hard copy filing system
- Process accounts receivable ensuring timeliness, accuracy of codes and appropriate backup as need
- Prepare accurate bank reconciliations and deposits as need
- Assist with financial reports as required
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bilingual (fluent) Spanish and English (Speak and write)
- Post secondary education in business, computers, or office management is an asset or equivalent to 3-5 years of experience in Healthcare
- Experience of a minimum of 3-5 years in a Medical Office/Diagnostic Center; Hospital or Managed Care as an Administrative Assistance/Insurance Verifier.
- EMR experience preferred (Athena health; Care Clouds)
- Experience with health insurance verification software (Emdeon; Availity; etc.)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology as well as ICD-10 and CPT codes
