Epsilon Systems Partners is seeking a contingent full time AC&R and Compressed Air Systems Subject Matter Expert (Engineering Technician IV) in San Diego, CA.
Summary: This position will provide support for recurring assessments and repair of AC &R and Compressed Air Systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides troubleshooting, repair, and assessment of U.S. Navy ships’ AIR/HP/MP/LP Systems (these systems include compressor, PLC, piping and electrical controls associated with compressors), A/C Plants, and Refrigeration Plants.
- Completes assessment or Technical Assist, and provides repair recommendations to the branch head in a Report or TAVR format as required for review and issuance on the equipment.
- Conducts ship visits to provide technical guidance for repairs, troubleshooting or testing as requested for urgent or routine requests.
- Conducts on-the-job training for Ships Force Maintenance personnel. The training must include adjustments, repairs, troubleshooting techniques and equipment/personnel safety.
- Communicates with and conduct a debrief of cognizant Ships Force personnel reporting conditions found, repairs completed and/or required and training conducted with current operational condition. Any unresolved conditions must be briefed to the ship’s Commanding Officer and Chief Engineer with corrections required.
- Provides assistance, training and technical subject matter expertise in AC & R and Compressed Air systems maintenance and repairs to ships’ force military personnel during FTA, TSRA, INSURV, TMI assessments, and CMO events.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years’ experience with AC&R OR compressed air systems maintenance and repair
- Possess type II or universal certification
- Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with both compressed air and AC&R systems
ADA Notations:
- Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes up to 50 lbs
- Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces
- Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels
- May ride ships at sea for extended periods
- Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States
