Summary:

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for the payment of goods and services purchased by the organization. This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed for the purchasing and payment of goods and services.

Essential Duties include the following; however, other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

  • Processes invoices into computer system.
  • Opens mail daily.
  • Processes check requests, garnishments and tax payments, ensuring all appropriate approvals have been received.
  • Communicates with co-workers, management, clients, franchisees and others regarding purchases.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual should possess:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of three years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and AP/AR processes a plus.
  • Must have an excellent eye for detail; must have the ability to spot issues quickly and be able to resolve in a timely manner.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Able to problem solve and handle a variety of issues.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to follow direction and able to work independently or as a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task projects, establish priorities, work independently and organize effectively.
  • Must be detail orientated and be able to work under pressure.
  • Analytical skills to support solving complex transaction processing issues.

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
