Job Summary:
Under direct supervision, responsible for providing daily accounting and financial support to the accounting administrative staff. Assists with a variety of financial and clerical duties.
Job Duties:
- Performs accounting and clerical work involved in the accounting function.
- Assists with a variety of financial duties to include; direct billing, accounting reconciliation, review, correction and preparation of journal entries, for a number of assigned units.
- Assists management with reporting, analysis and monitoring of daily activity, statistics and workflow management.
- Responds to questions and meets deadlines for data processing, financial requirements and transfers of funds.
- Reviews and approves travel and purchase requisitions; processes miscellaneous service requests; monitors electronic payment requests to ensure requests are submitted correctly and paid timely.
- Provides support with monthly reconciliation for several accounts; performs research and inquiries while maintaining project integrity.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education:
Associate's degree is required; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Experience:
Two (2) years experience in governmental or commercial accounting is required; no prior experience required with Bachelor's degree.
Intermediate to Advance Excel proficiency is required including the ability to work with Pivot Tables and Vlookups.
