Accounting Associate Details

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform general accounting duties, including daily accounts receivable processing, payment postings, deposits, collections and related reporting functions. Develop and maintain good customer relationships via phone and email correspondence.

· Process credit card, wire transfer and check payments and post to appropriate account in SBT/VP.10 daily

· Reconcile customer accounts as needed

· Manage collections on past-due customer balances via phone or email

· Compile and distribute weekly summary of “Past Due Accounts”

· Consult with Accounting Manager to determine actions needed for past-due accounts

· Efficiently communicate with Sales staff regarding receipt of wired funds, account “holds”, declined credit card payments, etc.

· Process, print and mail or email monthly customer statements

· Print month-end reports

· Reconcile payable invoices daily with purchase orders, packing slips or other documentation.

· Reconcile “no charge” invoice records weekly

· Maintain up-to-date and accurate customer records regarding payment terms and credit card authorizations

· Maintain up-to-date Seller’s Permit records (California buyers only)

· File Receivables invoices (daily) and Payables records (weekly)

· Maintain up-to-date and accurate Receivables and Payables file system

· Assist with customer service calls as needed

· Assist with Payroll Processing

· Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor

· Comply with all company policies and procedures

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

· Minimum 3-5 years related accounting experience

· Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with customers, vendors and coworkers

· Proficient with accounting software (SBT/VP.10 or Sage a plus) and MS Office: Excel (advanced skills), Word and Outlook

· Must be able to meet deadlines

· Maintain a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service

· Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

· Completion of general accounting courses

· Associates degree required, 4 year degree preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
