The UHS Southern CA Region consists of five acute care facilities located in the Southern CA area;

  • Temecula Valley Hosptial in Temecula, CA
  • Southwest Healthcare System: Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, CA and Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta, CA
  • Corona Regional Medical Center in Corona, CA
  • Palmdale Regional Medical Center in Palmdale, CA

The UHS Southern CA Regional Office is located in Temecula, CA.


Position Responsibilities:

The Regional Accountant analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses for multiple facilities across the Region. The Regional Accountant prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded.QualificationsEDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in related field required.
  • Two (2) to Three (3) years of experience in Accounting required, acute care experience preferred.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, regulatory or accreditation requirements Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic to Intermediate Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY: Intermediate to High Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with The Joint Commission and Title 22 standards and guidelines.
  • Demonstrates compliance with hospital policies and procedures at all times.
  • Ability to set priorities and appropriately organize workload and complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public.
  • Must have knowledge of PC and applications.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
  • Must maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft products, such as Excel and Word.
  • Must demonstrates the ability to maintain positive relationships and courteous interactions with hospital staff and the public.
  • Must have the ability to use good judgment and critical thinking skills in all situations.
  • Must be able to use the following: SMS, AS400, Personal Computer, Typewriter, Calculator (10-Key Proficient), Fax Machine, LaserJet Printer, AS400 Printer, SMS Printer.
