Job Description:


The Coordinator, Finance, will serve as the accountant for the Foundation's investments, debt financing, and real estate investment ventures.

Responsibilities include:


  • Reviews monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, including; corpus reports, endowment donor reports, endowment comprehensive reports, expense reports, treasury reports, and other ad-hoc reports as needed.
  • Provides supervision and training to finance student-interns on an ongoing basis.
  • Responsible for reconciling the Foundation's operating bank accounts and related merchant accounts monthly.
  • Reviews and approves monthly reconciliation of the investment portfolios between the general ledger and subsidiary ledger(s).
  • Collaborates with Foundation, University, and investment custodian to complete reconciliations, research and resolve discrepancies, and provide education on endowment investment management.
  • Reviews and posts Investment Allocations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis in the general ledger.
  • Prepares state sales tax report and submits to accounts payable for a monthly payment to the FL State Dept. of revenue, debt schedules and entries, and Creates, implements, and generates reports to assist with the financial decision-making process budgeting, forecasting, and board reporting.
  • Prepares, reviews, and posts journal entries related to investments, cash transactions, and debt financing following GAAP and creates process changes to increase productivity utilizing all accounting and donor systems.
  • Assists with the preparation of audit and financial statement schedules and state schedules and provides financial system expertise to internal and external partners.

Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with ability to work nights and weekends and limited travel, as required.

Minimum Qualifications:


Bachelor's or Master's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications:


The ideal candidate will have an investment background understanding investment strategies, traditional and alternative assets, and an understanding of accounting for investment vehicles. Work background for a custodian is a plus.

Proficient in Microsoft applications, especially Excel and accounting software. In addition, know general accounting standards. A background in database querying is a plus.

The ability to multi-task; be highly organized and detail-oriented, effective organizational and time management skills; an independent worker with adept problem-solving and project management skills. They will deal directly with vice presidents, deans, directors, and business managers. Also, they will develop work papers and analyses for the Foundation's governing boards and committees.
