7TH & 8TH GRADE DIRECTOR Details

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The 7th & 8th Grade Director's/Pastor's primary responsibility is to lead, manage, and develop the 7th & 8th grade students at Northview's Carmel Campus. This job requires weekend hours. This position is an exempt full-time salary position in the Northview Students Ministry and reports to the Northview Students and 5th & 6th Grade Pastor.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Gives ministry away and helps adults and students engage with Northview Church
  • Shows commitment to Northview Cultural Values
  • Develops and delivers weekly messages for 7th & 8th grade services
  • Manages, leads, and trains 7th & 8th grade volunteers (both adults and students)
  • Provides oversight to 7th & 8th grade life groups
  • Provides oversight to 7th & 8th grade special events, retreats, etc.
  • Develops weekly 7th & 8th programming for Northview Students
  • Participates and provides leadership for Family Framework events
  • Develops curriculum as needed
  • Attends weekly Carmel Campus staff meetings and staff chapel
  • Provides pastoral guidance and pursues consistent relationships with students and families
  • Be available for service hosting and baptisms
  • Conducts specific training and appreciation events for volunteers
  • Attends a service each week to stay in tune with the direction of Northview and to continue to develop spiritually
  • Prays regularly for Northviews leadership, volunteers, and students
  • Ensures safety of students by identifying and implementing appropriate risk management and training practices
  • Provides leadership and accountability to the Northview Students team
  • Responds to emails and voicemails from families and volunteers within 24 hours
  • Coordinates Northview Students events with other ministries
  • Attends monthly staff Huddles
  • Coordinates with outreach department to plan opportunities for families to give and serve within Northview Students
  • Strives to improve personal and professional skills by looking for and participating in learning opportunities
  • Completes performance reviews for supervisor
  • Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor


Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position works with volunteers and must have an understanding that volunteers are key to the ministry of the church. The employee must have a heart to recruit, train, equip and support volunteers in fulfilling their roles. This position is part of a greater team be a team player!

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree and three to five years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Related experience would be working with middle school students, experience with teaching, managing people, and leading volunteers.
