Position Title: 4-H Youth Development Professional - Aroostook County (id:70615) Campus: Orono Department: Cooperative Extension - OCES Bargaining Unit: UMPSA Salary Band/Wage Band: 02 Location: Houlton, ME Statement of the Job: This position will provide educational leadership for 4-H Youth Development in Aroostook County. 4-H is a non-formal, experiential education program for youth, and adults working with those youth, to develop life skills necessary to be self-directing, productive, and contributing members of society. The person in this position will work with 4-H volunteers and the 4-H Leaders Association to foster an open, educational environment to promote the learning and growth of 4-H youth. They will develop and provide educational programs and resources that address the needs of youth in Aroostook County in partnership with other Extension staff in the region to create a multidisciplinary approach to youth development. A priority will be to strengthen the 4-H programs in Aroostook County through school and community engagement with an emphasis on strengthening the 4-H Science programs along with a commitment to be involved with multi-county programming and supporting the animal science committees. Typical hiring range for this position is $37,000 to $41,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications.
