SUMMARY Working the 3rd shift (10:45 PM- 7:15 AM), this position operates processing machines; makes machine adjustments as necessary to ensure optimum speed and quality of capsule filling or tablet press/coating operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Actively participates in the safety program by: engaging in training activities to learn what constitutes a safety hazard; reporting safety concerns to the supervisor, submitting safety suggestions, and correct or report to the appropriate people when you see a workplace health or safety hazard, until it is resolved. Assists with communicating safety information to new employees. Fulfills responsibilities as outlined in the company safety management plan. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Previous machine operation experience and basic mechanical aptitude required. Ability to keep the workplace clean and orderly; good personal hygiene practices are required. Ability to maintain high quality standards and fast-paced production, and to successfully troubleshoot a problem with minimal supervision.
