Basic Purpose
To assure that finished packaged goods are inserted into proper cartons/containers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct pre-start safety and sanitation inspections per instructions and record results

Assure proper codes are on bags and cartons

Assure that the machine is set up properly

Assure that the proper weight is being packed

Assure that the taste and appearance of the finished product meets quality standards

Assure that the seasoning items are packed in the correct film

Picks and assembles cartons

Gently lifts and places correct number of bags in cartons

Places cartons into sealer and places sealed carton onto conveyor/pallet

Rotate to other areas in the packaging room as needed

Keep work area neat, clean and orderly

Backup
At the beginning of the shift be on time with the correct paperwork by the assigned line. Note: 2nd shift packers must be by the line right away after 1st shift packer leaves to avoid downtime.

At the beginning of production and/or shift change verify code dates on the bags and cases. If code date is not correct or not legible stop the line immediately and inform supervisor, assistant supervisor or shift manager
Note: code date on bags and cases must be inspected every 60 min (+/- 10min; exact time of the test must be documented) If changing to another size or seasoning, test must be performed at the beginning

Verify that correct packaging film is used. If film is wrong place stop the line immediately and inform PMO or supervisor.

Verify the bag weight, during production; weight test must be done every 30min (+/- 10min) Note: exact time of the test must be written on the sheet.

If there are any issues with the weight stop the line immediately and inform Supervisor and/ or manager right away.

Follow all GMP's, and Food safety policies and procedures

If line is down inform PMO and/or supervisor right away to avoid downtime during production.

When line down (PMO changing the film) clean the area around the line that you are packing in

If the line is down due to mechanical issues help another packer or make additional cases if necessary.
