Description:A Home Health Aide is responsible for performing personal care services, simple dressing changes that do not require the skills of a registered or licensed nurse, assistant with medications that are ordinarily self-administered and that do not require the skills of a registered or licensed nurse, assistant with activities that are directly supportive of skilled therapy services and routine care of prosthetic and orthotic devices.
. Requirements:- Must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or GED;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Office 365 System;
- A current negative Health Card or chest x-ray (TB skin test);
- Need to have strong written and communication skills;
- Pass a CORI (criminal record check);
- CPR and First Aid certifications required
- Home Health Aid Certificate, Nurses Aide Certificate or CNA License required
- Must have a reliable vehicle
- Must be willing to travel throughout the program’s geographic areas
- Must have at least one of the following qualifications:
- Certificate of 40-hour homemaker training; OR Certificate of 60-hour personal care training; OR Certificate of home health aide training; OR Certificate of nurse’s aide training
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Performs only under the supervision of an RN or Therapist who has provided written instructions for client care.
- Performs total care or assists clients in all activities of daily living and personal hygiene such as, but not limited to, bathing, grooming, linen changes, and personal laundry.
- Assists clients with transfers, ambulation, assigned exercises, and toileting, including the use of a bedpan or commode.
- Prepares nutritious meals within the client’s diet and assists with eating when necessary.
- Performs light housekeeping chores, which facilitates client self-care in the home setting.
- Answers client’s calls and attends to the client’s requests promptly.
- Meets the safety needs of the client and uses adaptive equipment safely and appropriately.
- Observes client’s general condition, takes and records accurately vital signs, and reports changes promptly to the nurse.
- Accurately documents dates, visits, and completed tasks and carries out all requested assignments.
- Reminds and assists patients in taking medications that are ordinarily self-administered.
- Recognizes emergencies and utilizes emergency procedures.
- Submits paperwork in a timely manner according to agency policy and procedure.
In addition:
- Schedule Doctor's appointments.
- Schedule meetings.
- Address specific needs of clients.
- Address other projects as requested.
- Need to be flexible (may include evenings and weekends).
- MAP certification preferred but not required (we can help you obtain)
- Requires regular COVID testing
- Computer skills a must
