JOB TITLE: 2nd Shift Bilingual Production Manager
JOB SUMMARY
The 2nd Shift Bilingual Production Manager will oversee assigned production unit to ensure all products and direct activities are manufactured on schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages to a daily production schedule and assigns direct workers to areas and distributes the work load.
- Achieves optimum employee levels with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plan.
- Hires, trains, develops and evaluates staff. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Ensures compliance with current federal, state and local regulations. Consults with Human Resources Department as appropriate.
- Identifies, recommends and implements changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data.
- Assists Plant Manager with implementation and maintenance of production standards.
- Ensures that established policies, rules, regulations, and procedures are followed.
- Directs and coordinates various programs essential to manufacturing procedures (e.g., training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, worker involvement, security, etc.).
- Initiates and coordinates major projects (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.).
- Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Reports any process and equipment problems. Calls the Maintenance Supervisor for assistance with problems.
- Serves as a member of the company safety committee.
- Contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives related to work-flow, 5S and overall shop efficiency
- Performs other duties as needed or assigned by manager.
QUALIFICATIONS - BA/BS in industrial, mechanical or business administration, or technical degree in related discipline recommended.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- 5 years experience managing a production manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of products, processes and industry in order to make solid judgments.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Work involves walking, talking, hearing, using material handling equipment.
- Vision abilities require close vision assessments.
- May be required to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
- May be required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Moderately loud noise levels in plant environment.
