Greenroads Foundation (www.greenroads.org) seeks an Engineering Intern for a part-time (16-24 hours per week, average 20 hours) civil engineering internship up to 12 weeks. As Engineering Intern, you will be assigned to support a variety of development, research, analysis, and writing tasks for our internationally recognized Rating System as we launch the third version. The anticipated start dates for this position are January 19 - February 8 through and end dates April 23 - April 30. As Engineering Intern, you are an engineering nerd and you are proud of it. You love poking around in data and documents. You like to read and think about numbers, complex systems, and enjoy problem solving. You are curious and willing to learn new things. You meet deadlines and follow instructions. You are meticulous when it comes to details, and comfortable finding those details in times of ambiguity. You prefer to work behind the scenes. You are a clear and logical thinker. You notice errors in logic and help people correct their errors kindly. You are pragmatic and enjoy collaborating to find a good solution. You ask questions when you are stuck. You love a good dose of reality as much as a great conversation and enjoy debates that challenge the way you think about the world. As an intern, you are choosing to spend your quarter or semester with us. You will become a daily representative of Greenroads and its mission to benefit communities and the environment by recognizing sustainable transportation projects and promoting sustainability education for transportation infrastructure around the world. Critical Responsibilities Must-Haves Nice-to-Haves Supervision You will report directly to the CEO. You may also interact and cooperate directly with past and current Project Teams. This position does not have direct reports. Typical progression for individuals in this role have the following path over several years if committed to continuing on with the organization: Engineering Intern (on track for EIT) -> Engineering Technician (EIT) -> Engineering Analyst/Staff Engineer (on track for PE) -> Project Engineer (PE) -> Project Manager and beyond.
