The Paraprofessional provides assistance to teachers with classroom organization, management and instructional strategies.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides assistance to teachers with classroom organization, management and instructional strategies.
- Works individually with assigned students to ensure that each student benefits from the assignment or task. Uses learning tools, including computer-based training.
- Monitors students' movement through cafeteria lines. Assists the custodian with cleaning cafeteria.
- Assists teachers with the preparation of boards and wall materials as it relates to daily lesson plans.
- Grades tests or student assignments.
- Makes copies and prints materials for classes.
- Assists administrators and other staff members in the orderly, expedient and safe transition of students from the classroom to the bus area.
- Assists with training volunteers.
RequirementsEDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED required
CERTIFICATION:
- Current GA Paraprofessional Certificate; OR
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED AND passed GA paraprofessional assessment; OR
- Associate's degree or completed 2 years of study at an institution of higher education.
EXPERIENCE:
- Two (2) years of experience with children preferred.
CompensationHourly Rate: 13.50/ Hour
May work up to 29 hours a week.
