What You Will Do as a …

Sorter Operator

Operates the sorting equipment and performs any/or all of the functions necessary to sort mail by zip codes for lowest postal discounts. Duties may vary according to jobs.

Starting Base Wage is $12.25/h (10% shift pay for 2nd and 3rd shift or $13.47/h)

Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities:

Maintains confidentiality of CDS and its clients' proprietary information.

Maintain production and quality expectations. Will rotate between the various functions of the department.

Operator Function
  • Fills auger with mail.
  • Enters information into the computer.
  • Checks mail, tags, etc. for errors.
  • Places trays on racks for pullers.
  • Removes machine jams.
  • Sorts rejected mail.
  • Assists in staging mail.
  • Troubleshoots basic machine problems.
  • Assures proper sequence and location of mail.
Puller Function
  • Places mail in correct tray/box in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Sorts and files rejected mail in the proper tray.
  • Numbers trays.
  • Places boxes/trays on rack.
  • Stacks trays on pallet.
  • Performs quality and destination checks.
  • Removes machine jams.
  • Return mail from mechanical bin to operator.

The above duties may be performed anywhere from 0-100% of the workday. Employee needs to be able to work in designated department/area and participate, in CDS Global's ergonomic stretching/strengthening exercise program.

Pushing/Pulling with up to 51 40 pounds of force, Working at a low position.
