The General Labor position performs any and all duties necessary on assigned tasks while achieving and sustaining the safety, performance, and quality expectations set by the Department Manager. This position regularly works with Forklift Operators, Machine Operators and Quality Control.

• Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner
• Load and unload trucks, breakdown and restack product
• Manually stack product coming off production lines
• Verify the quantity of product, perform all tasks assigned by management
• Perform daily housekeeping – Sweeping – Cleaning – Dusting
• Identify and clean leaks and spills as necessary
• Fix pallets with leakers before they are loaded into the trailers
• Wrap and re-wrap pallets
• Have a safety-first approach to work and have the courage to intervene when unsafe practices are observed

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 1-year of experience in an Industrial environment
• Good math, language and reading skills may be required

This job operates in a non-temperature-controlled industrial plant environment. These conditions can vary from hot and cold extremes. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving production machinery and vibration. Moderate noise can be expected from forklifts, machinery, trains and trucks. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. Regular work will be performed near other workers and production machinery.

• Frequently lift up to 40 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time
• Having a good sense of balance
• Having good eye-hand-foot coordination
• Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season
• Ability to read, write, and knowledge of basic math
