The Fred Meyer™ Distribution Center, is a proud member of the nation-wide Kroger Family of Companies. We are currently looking for a Ammonia-Refrigeration Technician in our Maintanance Department. The Maintenance Department is a union department and the shift that you are scheduled are based on seniority in the department, you must be willing to work all shifts scheduled/mandated.

Maintain and repair all components of on-site temperature control equipment to include ammonia refrigeration/HVAC system. Role model and demonstrate the Company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of self and others.

Essential Job Functions:- Model "Customer 1st" behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
- Operate, maintain and repair ammonia refrigeration plant and associated components
- Operate, maintain and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) and air handling equipment
- Operate, maintain and repair low pressure boiler
- Operate, maintain and repair wet and dry fire systems
- Maintain and repair all cooler doors, walls, ceilings and floors
- Maintain and repair dock enclosures and hydraulic dock levelers
- Maintain and repair site utilities and parts
- Purchase supplies
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), plus two years experience in HVAC and mechanical, or combination of relevant education and experience.
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Ability to pass drug test
- Ability to pass lockout/tagout and confined space training
- Ability to pass initial and annual respiratory physicals
- Ability to annually pass respirator fit test (involves wearing a mask)
- Ability to respond to hazardous emergencies
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work weekends and overtime, as necessary
- Ability to work any shift
- Accuracy/attention to detail
- Familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes
- Ability to work within set time frames/fixed deadlines
- Ability to continue education
- Valid driver's license
- Fred Meyer lift truck certification/license
- CPR/first aid certification
- Ability to obtain Limited Maintenance Electrician license within the first six months of employment
- Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) license
- Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and organizational structure
Skilled in Hazwoper (hazardous waste operation)
