City Year Chicago is seeking an AmeriCorps Member Experience (ACME) Manager, who is responsible for coordinating a variety of activities across the site to promote the quality of experience and engagement for City Year Chicago AmeriCorps Members - from their confirmed program acceptance through and beyond their year of service. Reporting to Director of Impact Operations, the ACME Manager serves on an Impact Operations team that coordinates Impact resource management, systems, compliance and administration, while interfacing directly with Corps members and representatives from across the site to ensure an aligned, coherent and immersive AmeriCorps Member experience. AmeriCorps Member Community Development
- Direct the planning and execution of AmeriCorps Member recognition and appreciation activities
- Oversee coordination, alignment, and communication regarding after-hours community-building spaces & events
- Advise Learning & Development team on teambuilding programming designed for the City Year AmeriCorps Member
- Collaborate with Learning & Development team to plan and coordinate weekly Community Huddles
AmeriCorps Member On-boarding and Persistence
- Collaborate with Recruiting and Admissions and Impact Operations team to coordinate the Confirmed AmeriCorps Member experience, maximizing their persistence from confirmation to start of service
- Provide targeted support to confirmed incoming AmeriCorps Members who are identified as exit risks prior to team placement
- Provide targeted support to late-start, out-of-state and midyear AmeriCorps Members through their first 60 days of service
- Carry a revolving caseload of AmeriCorps Members who may benefit from additional guidance, coaching, or support
- Facilitate feedback sessions with AmeriCorps Members to monitor their service experience
- Coordinate aligned sitewide utilization of systems and tools for managing the Corps Member experience
AmeriCorps Member Resources
- Aggregate and communicate information to AmeriCorps Members, in both whole-Corps and individual communications, about resources including:
- housing and financial concerns
- educational opportunities for the Corps that are not service-related (example: budgeting, filing taxes, financial literacy, etc.)
- mental health and wellness resources
- CTA transportation benefits
- City Year organizational benefits
AmeriCorps Member Development
- Advise the Learning & Development team to identify training that staff members need to support AmeriCorps Members
- Guide Impact Managers through the AmeriCorps Member Performance Management Process
- Provide program support for select Career Development and alumni engagement events
Returning AmeriCorps Member Recruitment and Team Leadership
- Coordinate with Recruitment and Admissions and Impact Staff on following and maintaining the playbook for the Returning AmeriCorps Member recruitment process
- Coordinate recruitment events for senior and second year AmeriCorps Members
- Support the Learning and Development team in the design and facilitation of monthly professional development sessions for Senior AmeriCorps Members
Organizational Initiatives & Site Support
- Participate in the hiring process for first year, second year, and senior AmeriCorps Members throughout the course of the year
- Represent the Corps member voice in cross-departmental planning committees and projects throughout the year
- Coordinate assignments of Corps Members to other volunteer opportunities outside of regular service hours
- Alongside other members of the Impact Operations team, serve as a rapid response team for crisis management

Additional Required Experience and Qualities Needed:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent work experience
- Commitment to community service, national service and/or the development of young people required; AmeriCorps service experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and meet deadlines amidst competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong cultural competency and commitment to City Year Chicago values, particularly in relation to upholding diversity, belonging, inclusion and equity
- Demonstrated capacity to build and maintaining productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Must have reliable means of transportation for occasional travel to school sites throughout the city of Chicago
