Job Description
We are currently looking for a dynamic individual to provide operational leadership in the efficient deployment and management of two paramedic-level ambulances that operate 24/7. This salaried-exempt, management position works 40 hours per week minimum, which may include nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
Supervising full-time and a pool of limited-time-employees, the ideal candidate will possess progressively responsible supervisory experience in a municipal 911 paramedic-level EMS system and must also meet the following minimum qualifications:

- Must possess and maintain California Paramedic license
- Must possess and maintain ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
- Completion of a formal course in Emergency Vehicle Operation (EVOC)
- Must possess and maintain a valid California driver's license, as well as have and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
- Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be able to speak and write English clearly and fluently.
- All required certifications and licenses must be kept current for the duration of employment.
- Must be available to work anytime including nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Must be able to work independently and be a self-starter.
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively within a team environment.
- Excellent basic math skills and basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and EMS-specific software applications.
- Skilled at using a computer, printer, calculator, telephone, copy machine, facsimile machine, EMS vehicles, and all medically related equipment necessary to deliver emergency medical care.
- Good working knowledge of emergency medical operations including vehicle operating procedures and all related tools and equipment necessary to perform the required duties.
- Knowledgeable of advanced medical practices, procedures, and equipment as integrated into the area of EMS and the job of a paramedic.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve, make sound decisions, and handle conflict during emergency situations and work independently.
- Problem solving skills, ability to analyze data, conduct investigations on matters which could result in employee discipline.
- Skilled at developing effective working relationships with all EPHC departments, adjunct public safety entities, and emergency hospital personnel.
- Ability to use good judgment and to operate equipment and emergency vehicles safely in high stress and adverse conditions.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work both independently as well as a member of a team, to employ discretion and confidentiality in sensitive areas, and to read, interpret, and follow instructions. Services or a closely related field.
