• Knowledgeable of handling cash and accountable for resolving or reporting all cash imbalances.

• Be alert to obviously mis-priced goods report to management
• Scan all merchandise purchased by customers
• Check bottoms of shopping carts scan all items found.
• Report to management any item that fails to scan during customer checkout, complete the purchase by asking an associate to price check the item that fails to scan. Management will have the item put in file ASAP.
• Observes and replaces substandard products.
• Be alert to and report any condition that might compromise the safety of customers or associates
• Verifies information on check and if acceptable, enters and properly tenders check into register system.
• Properly handles EBT transactions into register system.
• Ensures coupons are valid and properly entered.
• Maintains a neat and organized till.
• Adheres to company policies on the handling and sales of tobacco.
• Smiles.

• Ability to treat each customer with respect and in a friendly manner.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed and scheduled.
• Patience in dealing with customers and other individuals.
• Knowledge of store layout.
• Ability to handle required lifting duties.

Education and Experience No prior experience or training.

Work Environment

The associate is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The associate frequently is required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Pay: $7.50 - $8.29 per hour
