What Data Governance contributes to Cardinal Health
Data Governance is responsible for the disciplined execution of governance programs and practices across all data.
- Applies knowledge and ability to define and/or operate against the vision/strategy of data and governance.
- Demonstrates an understanding of data management modeling, tools, and practices.
- Identifies and manages data quality in alignment with the needs of the business and/or industry.
- Ensures complete protection of data with all policies as it relates to visibility and distribution.
- Identifies and communicates insights and potential upstream/downstream impacts and opportunities to customers, business and/or enterprise leaders.
- Exemplifies effective communication and change management skills to varying audiences.
Accountabilities in this role
The Advisor, Data Governance will be responsible for advancing and maturing Data Management capabilities across the enterprise. As a leader in our Data Management Center of Excellence (CoE), this individual will be responsible for:
- Continuous improvement of the data management methodology (our Playbook) and the execution toolkit (e.g. tools, templates, process diagrams, communication artifacts, etc.)
- Continuous improvement of the data management maturity assessment methodology
- Execution of maturity assessments for each data domain and working with Data Stewards to prioritize process areas to focuses capability building
- Conducting sustainability assessment and working with Data Stewards to ensure data governance capabilities are maturing and continuing after use cases have been completed
- Directing investments in capability building
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
- 3-5 years professional experience, preferred
- 2-3 years Data Management, Data Governance or relevant experience, preferred
- Analytical & Word Processing: Must demonstrate command of MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)
- Presentation: must demonstrate clear, concise articulation of proposed actions, illustrating opportunity, alternatives, recommendation and associated economics
