Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the developing and or formulation of standards, controls, calibrators, and intermediates in the production and development of Bio-Techne's Luminex, Q-kit, DuoSet, and Simple Plex product lines. Day to day work involved hands on work in production laboratory running assays for multiple product lines. You will maintain knowledge of multiple products and procedures as well as draft and revise standard operating procedures to further the ongoing development of new and existing products to help advance Bio-Techne's evolving portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and/or support development of new products using approved procedures and keep detailed and accurate records
- Set up and conduct your own experiments to help further new product development
- Draft and revise standard operating procedures
- Perform in process analysis and determine adjustments to bring analytes into specification
- Measure accurately quantities of material volumetrically and gravimetrically, employing knowledge of chemical and biochemical properties and handling procedures
- Analyze products, stock solutions, and raw materials using automated and manual instrumentation
- Assist in the validation testing of equipment and processes
- Perform technical processing steps as required in the documentation such as centrifugation, defiltration, in-process filtration, and column separation
- Perform final release testing
- Perform aseptic procedures such as aliquoting, filtration, and microbial plating
- Document results and prepare reports to analyze your data
- Assist in new product transfer and with the development of any new procedures required
- Carry out troubleshooting activities daily
- Propose and implement process improvements
- Collaborate with other departments/labs as needed
- Help train new employees as needed
- Follow company policies and practices as outlined in the Handbook
- Follow guidelines and comply with all company safety, quality, and training procedures and regulations

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience
- Or, Master’s degree in a related field and up to 2 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required
- Must be able to work in a fast-faced environment where you will be required to prioritize your own work to meet various deadlines
- Must be able to analyze data to make effective decisions
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills, especially across different groups
- Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must work well independently in an environment that requires strategic decision making
- Must demonstrate strong technical knowledge
- Ability to perform in a GMP and GLP environment. Knowledge of QSR and ISO
- Familiarity with biohazardous material handling and chemical safety procedures
