Overview:Adult Services Clinical Manager
The Adult Services Manager is responsible for the growth and development of advocacy and counseling services for adult victims of interpersonal family violence (including adults who were abused as children) through the Adult Services Program at The Center for Family Safety and Healing (TCFSH). The manager interacts with internal and external customers and system partners to promote a socially just and equitable response to domestic violence in our community. This position provides direct supervisory responsibility for TCFSH outpatient therapists and for the Advocacy supervisor.Why Nationwide Children's Hospital?:

  • Performs activities related to staff management; including but not limited to: recruitment and hiring; discipline and termination; scheduling, supervision, and performance management.
  • Facilitates the development of clinical pathways, operating procedures, and evidence-based techniques, with particular attention to integration of services with behavioral health services, and integration of care, including advocacy services, with other TCFSH partners and the community.
  • Conducts/attends routine chart audits and peer reviews to ensure consistency of documentation, compliance with policy and standards, quality of services provided, while enhancing Adult Services Program employee’s skills.
  • Acts as a liaison and organizational representative to community agencies and partners; provides presentations, instruction and answers questions as necessary.
  • Provides in-service training, media responses, and university coursework on interpersonal family violence as requested and appropriate.
  • Attends and may present at local and non-local stakeholder meetings and conferences.
  • Completes diagnostic assessment, individual service plans, and provides counseling services in response to goals and objectives determined in this process with adults presenting to TCFSH with concerns related to interpersonal family violence.
  • Maintains timely records. Documents clinical practice in accordance with TCFSH, Joint Commission, funding agency requirements, safety standards, and other appropriate standards.
  • Maintains an environment of safety for staff, clients, self, and others and supports patient safety initiatives.
  • Knowledge and oversight of TCFSH and Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) policies and protocols.
  • Assists in the monitoring of expenses and budget needs of the Adult Services Program.
  • Supports the Aspiration of TCFSH and the Mission of Nationwide Children’s Hospital in every interaction, decision and function of position; every day.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Education:
  • Master’s Degree in social work, counseling or related field required; focus on child welfare and/or family violence preferred.
  • Possession of an Ohio license to practice independently with supervisory designation or be a licensed professional clinical counselor (LISW-S or LPCC).
Experience:
  • At least 4 years of mental/behavioral health experience with at least 2 years’ experience working with domestic violence victims and at least 2 years supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of interpersonal family violence (including adults who were abused as children) and treatment interventions to respond to adults presenting with these concerns. Training such as, EMDR, CPT, and/or CBT.
  • Demonstrates awareness of diversity issues and provides culturally sensitive services to clients.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of community systems that support an effective response for victims of interpersonal family violence, in particular, available treatment services for more complex trauma treatment needs.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well with minimal direction.
  • Expertise in detail-orientation and self-motivation.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with leaders within TCFSH and its partners.
  • Ability to use sound judgment, make morally correct decisions and utilize authority in doing so.
  • Capacity to draft and interpret policies and protocols.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to handle confidential information appropriately.
